(UPDATE: Folks, still hoping your your links and eyewitness accounts to corroborate the leads below.)
Another quick post, folks.
The vultures everywhere are coming all out in force. Here are some of the things we've seen online:
1. Government officials allegedly not distributing relief goods in Provident Village Marikina because no media to cover their distribution.
2. Citizen apparently being told by SSS person that no funds are available for calamity loan.
3. DSWD allegedly repacking ABS-CBN relief goods in Pasig, reducing package contents.
4. Relief goods apparently being acquired by residents of a gated community for P1000 (sort of like shopping and delivery).
5. Taxi cabs doing "kontrata" (Metro Manila cabbies, what else is new).
6. Syrofoam care packages and plastic bags of relief goods with politicians's names.
7. Looters in Provident Village, Marikina.
8. On Plurk, a volunteer reported that some people are throwing stones at vehicles making their way to areas of greater need.
9. On Twitter, a comment saying "The politics on relief operations -- reports of donors being stopped, being told of the need to ask permits from barangay captains before distributing goods daw."
10. On Twitter, a comment saying "Unconfirmed via friend: 1 Valenzuela barangay not given relief goods because barangay captain is an enemy of the mayor."
11. On Twitter, a report that Customs personnel seizing relief goods from international organizations despite presidential directive.
12. On Twitter, reports of some top adminstration officials and possible presidential candidates stopping relief efforts/ seizing relief goods of non-governmentt organizations for the purpose of getting photo-ops and PR material.
13. On Plurk, a report of donations given to an entertainment giant not being distributed. They are awaiting for the availability of their stars first, presumably to capture the stars' distribution of said relief goods on camera.
Well, let's help our friends in the media use the information as leads to blow these people out of the water, so to speak.
Here's what we'll do:
1. Leave a comment, preferably not anonymous (dapat may bayag ka, 'tol).
Tell us what you know and a link to the original Plurk message/ Twitter message/ Facebook message/ blog post/ and so on.
Eyewitness accounts/ personal stories are best, and avoid sharing replurks and retweets.
Photos will be excellent, especially if you can tell us who and where they were taken.
2. I'll continue updating this post.
Don't worry about messages on the same topic from different people; multiple eyewitness accounts are good for verification.
3. There is no 3. Let's just hope mainstream media uses our leads.
Let's go.
Relief goods labeling
Manny and Cynthia Villar plastic bag being passed around in Plurk

Manny Villar styrofoam package being passed around in Plurk

Relief good claim stub -- allegedly, one cannot claim relief goods without such a ticket

(Updating ongoing -- thanks, cyberPinoys.)

I agree with you completely: we need to verify the facts, and we need to get it out in the open.
I've posted a shoutout to my network on FB directing them to your blog; I do hope that's ok. This is good citizenship and public accountability in action. Thanks for starting it. Let's hope it snowballs.

Hi Sir. I'm Kristine. I was the one who originally tweeted issue #3 (DSWD allegedly repacking ABS-CBN relief goods in Pasig, reducing package contents).
The info came from my officemate who lives in Pasig (just can't remember exactly where). He said relief goods donated by ABSCBN are being taken out from the bags by some DSWD reps designated in their area and then repack it.
As a result, bags contain varying number of goods. (kunwari, some bags contain 2 noodles while some, 3, 1, or none at all). AFAIK, dapat pare-pareho yun.
Anyway, for more info/verification, I can give his name and our contact number in the office but I may have to tell him first if someone wants to investigate further. Baka mabigla. :)
Thank you and best regards.
Kristine
@atty. lat -- much appreciated, counselor.
@kristine -- let's just put a tack on it, and let's wait if mainstream media is interested in investigating the issue. much thanks.
I've heard about the last two being posted in facebook. I have to say, that even without actual facts hearing about "this" (the politicians) makes me really mad. Btw, I hope you don't mind, but I reposted this in tumblr (whimsicalchild.tumblr.com)
I believe there are looters (even if I don't have solid proof). I'm mostly basing it on what happened in New Orleans. They had looters there too. And other people much worse.
I hope that eyewitness accounts will come to surface.
@mia -- armi millare of up dharma down wrote her experience being told to flee after hearing gunshots here.
she said:
"last monday, i dropped off food at home after 2 days of living off of what was left in the fridge. after i kissed my parents goodbye, i walked along with my brother and his girlfriend in the mud and were told to run for our lives by a group of bystanders carrying what looked like their only form of weaponry: flashlights, after hearing 3 gunshots just 2 houses down. i went to the front gate on my way out after balancing myself along with my brother and his girlfriend to tell the MMDA about what happened. they seemed VERY CALM and unattentive like everything was in order.
"we drove to the nearest school, near the office of the bgy captain and they assured us that they had already sent “troops” when I DID NOT SEE ANY at the time the robbery was taking place. if not for my friend who’s the son of a high ranking police official, my mom, my dad, my brother, my aunt and uncle, cousins and friends coming over to bring food, the risk of losing the only thing i have right now would be larger than all this."
(armi, apologies for pre-empting my lifting this section.)
Hi to all! I am living near Malacanang and I can attest that there is nothing irregular in the way Malacanang conducted its relief operations. All of the accusations are baseless and untrue.
When I heard about the opening of an evacuation center, I immediately went to the Palace and volunteered my services. I was not paid nor are the others who also went there. Besides, the plastic bags which contains the relief goods have no signages in it, unlike those of ABS-CBN, GMA and some presidentiables who put labels in their plastic bags, which I find to be malicious.
I am not a GMA fan, but I am telling my experience so that people will not be mislead, especially now that false stories are circulating.
Now is not the time to sow intrigues, what we need is to be united in order to fend off the challenge brought about by Typhoon Ondoy.
err, anonymous (in the first place, why defend the palace anonymously) -- note that the post above did not mention malacanang... is there something we should know?

I've been hearing that Whitespace gallery has been replacing donated havaianas with their old slippers.
Hopefully, this is the wake-up call that the world needs. It’s through dark times like these that bring people together towards a united good. I too find it hard to see whether or not the Philippines is capable of rising when most everyone in power has no comprehension of leadership, sacrifice or service. Maybe amidst all this flood and pain is some sort of relief headed our way.
Prayers and positive thoughts to all the victims and those affected.
hi! can anyone tell me where i can find the plastic bags and other goods with the politician's name?
